My pastor growing up once preached a sermon called “One More Night with the Frogs.” He dug in to why on earth Pharaoh would delay for a further day, and what it says about our own hearts, much as you have done here. It reminds me of Augustine’s famed words: “Lord, give me chastity and continence…but not yet.” Augustine too was reluctant to truly give everything over to God - to let him have full control.
