It’s hard to believe, for me, at least, but we’re already past the one-week mark since my book, Finding God in the Darkness: Hopeful Reflections from the Pits of Depression, Despair, and Disappointment was released on 1517 and Amazon! I have been so immensely blessed by all the positive feedback and responses so far. As I’ve said on a previous occasion, writing is a trepidatious affair and I never know how readers will react to what I’ve written. But it is humbling to know and to see that the Lord is already using this book to speak to folks from all walks of life and point them to the God who finds them in the darkness. That’s all I could ever ask for, honestly.
If you’ve been impacted by Finding God in the Darkness so far, whether you’re one chapter in or already done with it, could you do me a favor and leave a rating and a short review on Amazon? That would go a long in making sure others are given the opportunity to be introduced to the book as well. As much as we may not like it, much of the Internet is driven by the Almighty Algorithm, and those ratings and reviews are indispensable for making sure the Amazon listing plays well with the algorithm. I appreciate whatever words you can spare!
To get your creative-writing-juices flowing, here are a few reviews that have already been posted so far. Scott Boyer, a former pastor, and a dearer friend, had this to say about it:
If you are in despair or dealing with seasons of depression — get a copy of this book. If you are walking alongside someone in a fog that won’t lift — you’ll benefit from reading and understanding. No matter your station, you will be hope-filled in Jesus.
My fellow blogging friend, Blake Long — with whom I just went on Instagram Live and who just released a book of his own — wrote a full review of the book over on his blog, so definitely check that out. Here’s a snippet:
With careful instruction, biblical insight, and from his own experience, Brad shows readers that, ultimately, we are enabled to endure suffering because of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel is our only hope amid life’s storms. For it is through the gospel of Jesus Christ that we find God in the darkness. Go get this book. Five out of five!
Once again, thank you so much for all the support you’ve shown over the last few days. It has been such a blessing to receive your kind words and gestures. My heart is full. Thank you all!
Grace and peace.
