I’m excited to officially announce that I will be speaking in a breakout session at next year’s Here We Still Stand conference in San Diego, California. This annual conference, hosted by 1517, has long been on my list of Christian conferences to attend. Now, I not only get to attend but also participate in the conference festivities. The 2023 event is a doozy, too, centered around the theme “C. S. Lewis & the Untamed God,” and, needless to say, there are already a handful of talks that I have my eye on. If you’d like to know, my talk is called “‘Myth Become Fact’ and the Face of Suffering,” in which, Lord willing, I’ll be exploring the depth of meaning within Lewis’s essay on the incarnation, entitled, “Myth Become Fact” and how our seasons of suffering are assuaged by the God who takes on flesh for us.
For the last seven years or so, I’ve been able to contribute an array of articles for Christ Hold Fast and 1517, mostly in the realm of expositing bits of Scripture. This endeavor is very much an extension of my pastoral ministry, as I’ve striven to keep the immense meaning of the gospel of Christ front and center, probing its depths and proclaiming its truths. The prospect of sharing this news in person brings me great delight. I cannot wait to take part in this phenomenal event. If you’re interested in attending, you should go ahead and reserve your tickets now. Spaces fill up fast, and you won’t want to miss the singing, the speaking, and the fellowshipping. Lord willing, I’ll see you there next year!
Grace and peace.
