To be honest, I’ve always had a fascination for the craft of video production and editing, so I was delighted when the 1517 team suggested the idea. It was a cathartic experience to process some of the darker days that backdrop the book. In so doing, I was afforded the opportunity to distill what this book is about. In a word, it is not about devising some new “system” to tackle the complex problems of pain and suffering. Instead, it’s about the God who is with us, the God who finds us, even on the darkest of days.
If you or someone you know has suffered through discouragement or depression — or if they are experiencing it right now — I pray this book will point them to the God who is with them, no matter what.
