#82: Grace and politics and staying on mission.

In this edition of the Ministry Minded Podcast, you are invited back to “the corner” as I share some musings on these recent days of chaos and how the gift of grace ought to be esteemed in even greater importance during these times. I have never been one to delve into politics. I have never wanted to wade into those waters, and that remains true. Yet I cannot help but reflect on what I believe to be an abnegation of grace during our present moment when there are those who claim the name of Jesus who are demonizing those who vote differently than them. It is no wonder that those outside of the church remain so churlish towards the things of the gospel when they see those inside church responding in such vitriolic ways towards one another. I pray that even during these days, we do not lose our perspective. (Col 3:1) That we do not forget that the Lord of all things is the only Savior of sinners. And sinners are all that there are.

Notes.
I’m Brad Gray and I serve as the Senior Pastor of Stonington Baptist Church in Paxinos, Pennsylvania, where I live with my wife Natalie, daughter Lydia, and son Braxton. Besides pastoring, I spend most of my time writing, reading, and ministering in many more ways. I am resolved to faithfully and fervently propagate the gospel of “grace upon grace” for the weary and the worn out. It is my sincerest desire to live and minister all “for the sake of the Name.” (3 Jn 1:7) So long as Christ is exalted, that is enough.
